School Projects ( 2011-2012 ) held at St. Anthony’s Anglo Indian High School, Egmore.

A project on various subjects was organized in our school. Classes I to IX participated in it. The Project was inaugurated by Mr. Ismail, the Inspector of Anglo Indian Schools who appreciated the creativity and display of talents by our students. The project was an enlightening experience for our students.

Std I

“What will I be?” is a question that worries many students. The children of Std – I displayed their talents by singing, dancing and debating on the topic ‘My ambition. The students dressed up as various professionals and explained about their Ambition in life. Each student did a scrap book about their childhood memories. It was very creative and was appreciated by everyone.

Std II

A project was conducted on the 2nd of March for Std II children on the topic ‘Market’. Every child took part in the project. Models were put up and they explained about the market. They sang songs and recited poems on market. They also prepared for villu pattu and exhibited craft work in class.


An informative and entertaining project was done by the students of Std III. The topic for the project was the five physiographical divisions of ancient Tamil Nadu, which is Kurinji, Mullai, Marudham, Neidhal and Palai. Children explained about these landforms with regard to climate, vegetation, people occupation etc. The explanation was interspersed with song, dance and rhyme, that also emphasized how we must take care of Mother Earth and her resources.

Std IV

Academics and sports along do not complete the life a student. Creativity plays an important role in the life of a child. The children of Std IV displayed their talent and creativity by exhibiting all the products that they had made throughout the academic year 2011-2012. Children made lanterns, giraffes, penguins, tortoises, pen holders, shuttle cork dolls, handbags, hats, wall hangers, slippers, puppets, sunflowers and paper flowers.

Decorations made for Diwali, Christmas and Pongal were put up on the notice boards. The children presented each product to the audience with a song, poem and “Villupattu’. Everyone who visited the project shared with the children that it was a colourful and creative presentation.

Std V – Wonderful world of Creative art

Beautiful craft made by the students of Std V during the Academic year 2011-2012 were displayed on the 17th of March 2012. A wide range of artifacts starting from paper bags, wall hangers photo frames to art from wastes were exhibited. Our project was definitely an eye catches.

Std VI

The Students of Std VI presented their project on 22nd March 2012 on the topic “Science in Action.” Various interesting experiments were demonstrated by the students to explain the uses of science in our day to day life. Colourful models were displayed to explain the uses of forests, rain water harvesting, causes of pollution, fire alarm, separation of substances etc. A skit was enacted to create an awareness on Global warming. The children recited a poem on Magnets. Various interesting games based on scientific principles were conducted. It was the centre of attraction for visitors as they could express their skills.


“The Five Elements of Nature” was the topic for the project of Std VII. The project was presented in a creative way. A choreography was performed by the students bringing out the importance of the five elements and relating it with the modes set up in class. The causes of the depletion of the five elements was brought out through a song. The song also emphasized to save Our Mother Earth. Many other working models and experiments were displayed. A few puzzles and games were also conducted.


அருமைத் தமிழில் அனைத்தும் முடியும்‚
22.03.12 அன்று எட்டாம் வகுப்பு மாணவர்களால் நடத்தப்பட்டது

1. இலக்கியச் சோலை
2. இயற்கையோடு இயைந்த வாழ்வு
3. பழந்தமிழரின் அறிவியல் அறிவு என்ற

முப்பெரும் பிரிவுகளில் மாணவர்கள் செயல்வடிவம் செய்து விளக்கிக் கூறினார்கள்.

துமிழ்த்தாய் வாழ்த்துடன் தொடங்கியது அக்பர் , பீர்பால் நாடகம் ஒன்றும் , குறவஞ்சியரின் குதூகல நடனம் ஒன்றும் முத்தமிழ்க் காப்பியம் சிலப்பதிகாரத்தின் வழக்குரை காதையும் அரங்கேற்றப்பட்டன.
நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு ஆங்கிலோ இந்தியப் பள்ளிகளின் ஆய்வாளர் உயர்திரு இஸ்மாயில் அவர்கள் வருகை தந்தார். அவரது அனைத்து வினாக்களுக்கும் மாணவர்கள் சிறந்த முறையில் பதில் அளித்தனர். வீவேக சிந்தாமணிப் பாடலின் கற்பனை நயத்தை மாணவி ஒருவர் விளக்கூற , மிகவும் வியப்புற்றார். இறுதியில் மாணவரின் முயற்சி நன்று எனப் பாராட்டினார்.
பள்ளித் தலைமை ஆசிரியர் , தாளாளர் , மற்றம் அருட்சகோதரி ரோஸ் மேரி ஆகியோர் பார்வையிட்டு மாணவர்களைப் பாராட்டினர்.
தலைமையாசிரியர் ஆய்வுத் திட்டங்கள் அனைத்தும் நன்றாக உள்ளது , அவற்றைப் பார்வைக்கு அமைத்திருக்கும் பாங்கு மிக்க நன்று என்றார். நில மாசுபாட்டைத் தடுக்கும் விதமாய் மரமும் - மனிதனும் உரையாடிய நிகழ்ச்சி தன்னைக் கவர்ந்ததாகத் கூறினார்.
நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு , வருகைதந்த பெற்றேர்களும் , முன்னால் மாணவர்களும் , முதன்முதலில் தமிழ் ஆய்வுத்திட்டம் காண்பது மகிழ்ச்சி அளிப்பதாகவும் , மாணவர்கள் சிறப்பாகச் செய்திருப்பதாகவும் கூறிப் பாராட்டினர்.

Std IX

The Children of Std IX exhibited their project on English and Social Scienc. A few children recited the poems of William Wordsworth – “The Solitary Reaper” and “The Daffodils”. They showcased their talent by singing a soul stirring song DO RE MI……. from the movie “The Sound of Music”. Another set of students exhibited their innovative ideas and creativity through colourful models on Social Science. Some of the highlights of the exhibition were Revolution in Transport and Communication pre-historic to Modern Age , Deforestation and Egyptian Pharoahs and Pyramids.
All those who witnessed the project enjoyed and appreciated the students talents.
